COG Workshops and Training

Workshops run by Industry Specialists presenting Electronics Obsolescence related topics

Our workshops consist of presentations in the morning session from industry specialists. The delegates get the opportunity to put into practice the concepts that they learned by participating in a team exercise in the afternoon session – with the speakers on hand to assist and answer any questions. The wrap up discussion session discusses the merits and pitfalls of each team’s strategy.

Advanced bookings for these courses are required. 50% discounts apply for a second delegate booking in at the same time from the same site. You can book your places online with your credit card, or by fax/post by completing the registration form online.

The COG Workshop Programme for 2011 is listed below.

You can order by fax, post or with your credit card by completing the registration form.

Emerging Technology & Reliability

Semiconductor component development is now driven by the mass markets of mobile phones and consumer electronics. Semiconductors used are not designed to survive military/aerospace environments and have very limited guaranteed longevity.

This workshop will advise on how to assess new technology electronics, what limitations may exist and strategies to ensure that system reliability is not compromised. In particular, the workshop will advise on current manufacturing technologies used in these types of components.  There will be an opportunity to raise and discuss delegates concerns.

The workshop will be of particular benefit to project managers, design engineers and anyone involved in the selection and review of advanced microelectronics to be used in high-rel or longer-life equipment (2-10 years and beyond).

Speakers are:

John Jones, Tecnoligica
Alun Jones, Micross Technologies
Roger Buckley, Eltek Semiconductors
Ed Coady, Charcroft Electronics
